Black Hills regional park is about 10 minutes from I-270 (Father Hurley Blvd exit), about 20 miles north of the beltway.
The venue offers a nice visitor center with restrooms, scenic views, playgrounds, lots of hiking trails, and a large lake with public boating. Boat rentals start in June, so BYO Boat if you want to enjoy some paddling. While not as scenic as Sky Meadows (our 2014 venue), Black Hills is closer, has better facilities (restrooms, etc), and has no admission fee!
It's where Owl Moon Raptor Center holds its annual exposition.
